Stop paying too much for long distance services!
There are a few ways that you can lower your phone bill by a significant amount – it just requires doing a little price comparing! However, before you start, you should make sure that you know how much time you generally spend calling long distance – and whether or not you can stand to cut back some call time. Cutting back call time is obviously the quickest and easiest way to lower your long distance phone bill service but it might not be viable depending on your own calling habits.
First, you should call your long distance phone provider and find out whether or not there is another long distance plan that will fit your calling habits better than the one you are already on. Most phone companies should be able to help you find a better plan than the one that you are on. One of these plans should cut back your long distance costs by quite a bit – and if your phone company doesn’t have a plan that works for you, don’t hesitate to look elsewhere.
The next thing you can do is to switch to another long distance provider. Before doing this, make sure you call around and find out which providers are active in your area – and get price quotes from all of them. You should be able to find a lower price for your long distance than the one you are currently using. How much you can save doing this will vary, but if you need a long distance plan, it is a good idea.
Another option is to cancel your long distance plan without switching to another provider at all. If you do not use your long distance service very often, then this is probably the ideal choice for you. There are a lot of other options – for instance, you can purchase long distance calling cards for a few dollars. Since these calling cards usually have hundreds of minutes of call time on them, you may be able to get the cards to last for months at a time.
Generally, the best way to lower your long distance phone bill is to go with the last option – unless you use your long distance service often, the calling card will probably be far cheaper per month than your phone bill.
